We are going to have training for the teachers. We already have a contact at Apple and Joel is willing to spend the money for training. Right now only 4 teachers are getting them plus one in the computer lab. It's just a small step right now. They are mostly for the teachers' use, but they may figure out things they want their students to do on them once they start to use them. We have a very "experienced" staff, so change doesn't always come quickly. We'll see how it goes. Joel and I are also buying one for home and I am looking forward to learning how to use it.
Greg,
Don't you have something like one to one Apple laptops at Salem? We are getting just 5 Apple laptops, mostly for teacher use. We have them and I will be setting them up soon. Any advice?
Greg,
You would have enjoyed the seminar I attended yesterday. Next time I'm invited to attend, I'll pass the info on to you. It was an Apple seminar in Garden Grove. They divided us up into 2 groups, the IT group and the Curriculum group. I was in the Curric group. We were issued an iPod Touch for the day, full of podcasts and videos we were supposed to listen to. We also were given a MacBook to use to create our own podcast with Garageband and were given some help using the new iMovie. Lots of fun. According to the Apple team, there will be another upcoming seminar at Fisler School on Friday, November 21, 8:30-2:00 hosted by Apple. I have more information about that if you know of anyone who wants to attend.

Greg, Did you get the email from MS to log into the licensing site? I think the next step is to reply to their email so I can confirm you as a user. Then you have have all the downloads you want.
It is a bummer that I'll not be able to go. I had asked to go, but the school wants to spend the money on more targeted server/infrastructure training on the Apple hardware/software. I hope you have a blast as I know you will...
Safe travels!
Welcome aboard. Glad to see so many have responded so far this evening. I just got the email list tweaked tonight and sent out the invites. Great sight to come back on and see all who have joined already. I'm heading out to CUE at 6 in the morning. I'll try to add stuff while I'm there. Guess that means I'm definitely taking my laptop now. Alan
